Healing & The Lord’s Prayer

In this article I would like to take us on a short meditation of the Lord’s Prayer from the perspective of Divine Healing…

As you pray each line, I invite you to pause and reflect…

Our Father

Our Father is a loving father! He has already declared who He is;

‘And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness…’

-Exodus 34:6

What father has the power to stop or alleviate their child’s pain and doesn’t?

Who Art In Heaven

There is no pain, sickness or tears in heaven…

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

-Revelation 21:4

Holy Be Your Name

To be Holy, is to be perfect, without impurity, wholeness, with nothing lacking

Your Kingdom Come

His Kingdom in heaven is skinless – spotless and without blemish

Your Will Be Done

When a man with leprosy came to Jesus, he asked Him if He was willing to heal him of his skin disease. Jesus replied, “I am willing, be healed!”

Jesus also said, ‘If you have seen me, you have seen the Father’

Jesus is willing to heal

Our Father is also willing to heal

On Earth As It Is In Heaven

When we pray ‘On earth as it is in heaven’, we are praying that the same state that exists in heaven is bought to earth.

As we’ve already discovered, there’s no sickness in heaven!

Give Us Today Our Daily Bread

We pray, ‘Give us today our daily bread!’ well, healing is the children’s bread (See Matthew 15:26)

And Forgive Us Our Sins

‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’

-1 John 1:9

He is faithful and just and will cleanse us from all impurity

As We Forgive Those Who Sin Against Us

‘If you do not forgive, you will not be forgiven’

-Matthew 6:15

We can not be healed and hold onto the fruits of the sinful nature -i.e. bitterness

Bitterness eats away at us from the inside out

Hebrews 12:15 speaks of ‘a root of bitterness’

And Lead Us Not Into Temptation

Do not eat of the devils’ fruit – that leads to sickness and death. (See 1 Corinthians 10:21)

But Deliver Us From Evil

Set us free; take us out from sickness, sin and the devils’ kingdom

Sickness is a work of the devil – that’s why Jesus went around doing good and destroying all the works of the devil (See Acts 10:38)

For Yours Is The Kingdom

Jesus is the King of the Kingdom, one accredited to us by signs, wonders and miracles (see Acts 2:22)

Jesus is the healer

The Power

By his stripes we are and were healed (see Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24)

And The Glory

God’s glory is manifested in the works of God -healing is part of the works of God (see John 9:3)

Now and Forever

‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever’ (Hebrews 13:8)

What he did whilst on earth, he still does now primarily through His Body – The Church

Amen!

We accept these truths concerning healing by faith
-agreeing with what God has said!

Amen!
